|Bronze||Bronze is a metal alloy consisting primarily of copper, usually with tin as the main additive. Bronze was especially suitable for use in boat and ship fittings prior to the wide employment of stainless steel owing to its combination of toughness and resistance to salt water corrosion. In the twentieth century, silicon was introduced as the primary alloying element, creating an alloy with wide application in industry and the major form used in contemporary statuary. Aluminum is also used for the structural metal aluminum bronze. It is also widely used for cast bronze sculpture and jewelry. Since it is primarily copper, it can take on a dark greenish patina over time and is often coated with a protective finish to slow this process.|
|Sterling Silver||Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of pure silver and 7.5% by mass of other metals, usually copper. Sterling silver is hypo-allergenic though a few people may have reactions depending on their individual body chemistry. With regular ware, sterling silver does not tarnish, however if not worn for a period of time, the copper or other metals can tarnish or blacken. A polishing cloth is the simplest way to clean and polish your sterling silver.|
