Sun God Ra Battling Apep Egyptian God Statue by Pacific Gift Home Decor

Ra represents sunlight, warmth and growth. It was only natural that the ancient Egyptians would believe him to be the creator of the world, as well as part of him being represented in every other god. The ancient Egyptians believed that every god should illustrate some aspect of him, while Ra himself should also represent every god. Ra was usually depicted in human form. He had a falcon head which is crowned with a sun disc. This sun disc was encircled by a sacred cobra named Uraeus.

Every night, Ra sailed into the Nuat, the Underworld, on his solar barque to do battle with Apep, the serpent Lord of Chaos. Ra would rise victorious the next morning.

Artist Derek Frost has captured the epic battle of the Egyptian Gods in a stunning cold cast resin statue with hand painted color detail. The statue stands 9 inches high.

Cold Cast Resin Resin is a polymer which can be used for making molds as well as cast in molds. Cold-cast resin is generally for sculpture and means that the resin material is cast without the need for the extreme heat of a foundry. It holds very sharp detail when cast. It is fragile if dropped and fractures similar to glass, usually in clean pieces which can be glued using a household super glue.
