Lovely hand carved scarabs are made in Egypt and set in sterling silver in a unique hinged setting that allows the stone to swivel revealing the hieroglyphic blessing on the reverse. Each is unique so please expect variation from the photo. Stones are about 1 1/4 inches long. Available with a green scarab (55-1496) or blue scarab (55-1497).

Scarab - According to ancient Egyptian mythos, the sun (Ra) rolls across the sky each day and transforms bodies and souls. Modeled upon the Scarabaeidae family dung beetle, which rolls dung into a ball in front of itself to lay its eggs, the scarab was seen as an earthly symbol of this heavenly cycle.
